Colwyn Griffith

Colwyn Griffith's Eye Candy 3:

Cavendish Beach PEI 2002

"Using common processed foods found in supermarkets, Eye Candy 3 features thirteen popular tourist sites from across Canada. Rather than physically visiting the actual sites, I developed my impressions using virtual postcards and tourist brochures as a visual and experiential compass. Some of the “foods” used in the images include coloured sugars, Cheez Wizz, fruit roll-ups, hickory-sticks (French-fries), wafer cookies, tic-tacs and canned gravy."

Dead White Trash (With Gulls), 1998

-Here's a brief wikipedia article on collaborators,Tim Noble and Sue Webster.

-If you're interested, here's a Village Voice article about their process in making Dead White Trash (With Gulls), 1998.

-More of their shadow installations.

A light is projected against the pile, and the shadow on the wall creates an entirely different image, typically one of the couple themselves: this is not at all apparent from looking directly at the pile."
